Massage

“Touch is the most basic, the most nonconceptual form of communication that we have. In touch there are no language barriers; anything that can walk, fly, creep, crawl, or swim already speaks it.” – Ina May Gaskin, Spiritual Midwifery

We  provide a targeted approach to relieve:

  • leg cramps
  • swollen feet
  • low back and hip pain
  • sciatic nerve pain, neck and shoulder pain
  • headaches, and other tension patterns.

Prenatal massage can also reduce blood pressure, stress, anxiety, and depression.

Your work doesn’t stop at childbirth. Lifting and carrying your baby, breastfeeding, sleepless nights, and emotional stress can impact every new mom. In addition to relieving muscle strain and new aches and pains, postpartum massage is proven to reduce cortisol levels and increase serotonin and dopamine levels to combat postpartum depression and anxiety.

Each session begins with a review of symptoms or current focus areas. We then use a variety of techniques including swedish massage, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and passive/active movement therapy to target your specific concerns.

All massages are offered in your home, so you can reap the benefits and enjoy some much-needed relaxation time. Our licensed massage therapist offers 60, 75, or 90-minute massages.

“I had a 90 minute massage with Rita and cannot recommend her enough! Before the massage began we talked about the areas I preferred that she focus on, any medical injuries or sensitivities, as well as the type of pressure I preferred. As I wanted the focus to be my shoulders and upper-back, Rita began in that region after first applying a hot towel pack to add to my comfort. She applied a good amount of extra firm pressure and then modified as she moved to other areas. Needless to say, I passed out fairly quickly. I walked into my appointment feeling like my shoulders were above my ears and I walked out feeling about two inches taller. The entire experience was utterly wonderful and I can’t wait to book my next appointment.” ~Courtney M.
